Doha Golf Club is one of the oldest golf destinations in the region.
The founding moment of grass golf in Qatar can be traced back to 1998 when it truly arrived on the world stage, hosting the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters as a second stop on the European Tour's Middle East swing. A young Scot, Andrew Coltart, won the inaugural event and since then the tournament has hosted a star-studded gathering each year to further cement its place on the golfing map.
At the centre of golf in Qatar is Doha Golf Club, a 27 hole, desert course venue, designed by Peter Harradine. The property features an 18 hole championship course and a 9 hole, floodlit, academy course to provide a challenge to golfers of all skill levels.
Below you can see some construction pictures from 1995, and see how the course, and Doha, have developed over the years.

Golfers coming up both the 9th and 18th holes on the Championship Course are welcomed by an expansive Arabian-style clubhouse, with a sociable club atmosphere, and a 5 star Food & beverage service provided by the Mayfair Hospitality Group.
Everyone knows everyone, and you will always be treated as a friend by other members and the hospitable staff.
The Championship course boasts a full length driving range, 8 lakes on the course, and thousands of trees and shrubs. The vegetation is both native to the region and transplanted from other desert environments around the world like Arizona, USA.
The wind is notorious for creeping up in the afternoon, and this can quickly become a force to be reckoned with when you play. Morning tee times, in contrast, tend to be more benign in terms of playing conditions. You can make your choice accordingly.
We look forward to welcoming you to Doha Golf Club very soon.
